Maddie Takes the Ice in Norway

Perhaps the most welcomed note ever to arrive at Sporting Chance Press:

"Norwegian figure skaters want to read this book [Maddie Takes the Ice]"

The note came from a contact affiliated with the Oslo SK√ėITEKLUB. Now a box of Maddie Takes the Ice is crossing the Ocean to fans overseas from the club of Sonje Henie! Norway, of course, is the homeland of the most famous figure skater of all time, Sonja Henie, whom we have written about on this blog in past. Henie changed figure skating forever at the 1927 World Championships in her home town of Oslo. Henie performances leapfrogged all other figure skaters of the time with her athleticism, her difficult programs, her outfits and her ballet-like choreography.

The interest from Norway skaters follows interest from Australia, Canada and interest all over the United States. Maddie has received high marks from several reviewers and was selected for the America's Battle of the Books literacy program.

Maddie Takes the Ice can purchased online at www.sportingchancepress.com -- customers outside the U.S. can write the publisher at lmj.norris@gmail.com to obtain shipping charge estimates before ordering.
